Five Multi's of Psychological Assessment
Multi-method assessment approach emphasizes obtaining information of a client from different sources through adopting several assessment techniques, Moreover, assessment of multiple areas should be conducted. Interventions should be developed based on the assessment findings.

Multiple Sources
Information of the clients should be obtained from not only the referral source, but also from other individuals, such as teachers, parents, siblings or classmates, who are familiar with the clients.

Multiple Traits
Multiple areas, such as intelligence, attention, memory, processing speed, planning and organization, achievement, visual skills, motor skills, oral language, adaptive behaviour, personality, and social emotional functioning, should be assessed.
Assessing multiple traits allow the you to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the clients, and more accurate conclusion can be drawn.

Multiple time perspectives
Considering multiple time perspectives allow you to check the persistence of the presenting problem of the client. You may also investigate if there are any sudden changes of the behaviours of the clients.

Multiple methods
You can collect relevant information with multiple methods. For example, to assess if a student with specific learning difficulties, apart from using the standardized assessment, you may also take a look at his work samples, observe the students in class, and interview the student and his teachers.

Multiple settings
Your clients may have different behaviours in different settings. For example, if a parent referred a child because of throwing tantrum at home, you may observe if the child behaves the same at school. By comparing the behaviours of a client in different settings, you may identify the cause of the problem.
